Sunday 25 June
11.00 – 3.00 pm
We are very excited to be working with the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) and Country Park teams at Haddo and Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland (McOpera) on a pilot community music day on 25 June. Free to all, the day is focused around Come and Sing/Come and Play workshops using the music from Song for Haddo, our schools music project which came to an end with the live performances of “A Place to Play” during the Haddo Arts Festival last year.
These workshops, led by McOpera’s professional musicians and vocal coach, will be an opportunity for any visitor to Haddo to learn and sing the music. There will also be and brass and percussion street band workshops. When they’re not leading workshops, the musicians will take their music out onto the paths between the House, the Courtyard and the Country Park for everyone to enjoy during their visit.
The NTS will be leading special, short tours around some of the places in the House which feature in the Song for Haddo music, and there will be musical storytelling in the Country park’s Sensory Garden.
It’s going to be a hugely enjoyable day – do keep checking back for more information as we get closer to 25 June.
