Event information

A performance, in celebration of Gabriel Fauré’s centenary year, of his ever popular Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine, in the Chapel at Haddo House.

The Haddo Arts Chamber Choir and Nova Quartet
Conductor: Dr. Roger Williams MBE
Organist: Prof. David Smith

In his Requiem, the French composer Gabriel Fauré distilled some of the most beautiful melodies he ever composed.  Gone is the sombre nature of many requiems that had gone before, as Fauré’s is noted for its calm, serene and peaceful outlook – musical solace in a work that focuses on a restful and fear-free end of life.
