Event information

Bendor GrosvenorIn association with the Grampian Decorative and Fine Arts Society.

Haddo House contains an extensive art collection which includes a painting of the Madonna. In October last year, the painting was investigated as part of BBC Four’s Britain’s Lost Masterpieces. Art historian and art dealer, Bendor Grosvenor, had seen it on a tour of Haddo and thought it might be by Raphael, considered the supreme painter of the High Renaissance era.

Dr Grosvenor will present a talk on the art collection at Haddo with a particular focus on his investigation into the Madonna.

The evening will include a recital by Benedict Stammeijer, Steven Lee and Imogene Newland, students from the North East of Scotland Music School.
