Event information

Rossano was born in Vigevano, Italy, and graduated in classical piano aged only 16. Having transferred his allegiance to jazz, he became known as an exponent of the stride style and was compared to the late Ralph Sutton and Dave McKenna, but that understates his playing range. He can, as they say, do it all.

”Rossano Sportiello is a virtuoso pianist and a master of piano styles” Dave Gelly – The Observer

Rossano has performed with many of the world’s finest jazz luminaries and been in much demand in the U.S. appearing at the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the United Nations. Rossano has performed all over the world at acclaimed festivals and venues. He joined the Harry Allen Quartet in 2008 and is also a member of the European trio, Three Wise Menâ . In 2016, Rossano received the prestigious Valenza Jazz Award 2016 as musician of the year.

Rossano will be performing on the Haddo Steinway by kind permission of Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society

Award winning New York based jazz pianist Rossano Sportiello, will entertain us with jazz piano improvisation from the great American songbook.
