Simon is well known to the British comedy-going public from TV shows such as Live at the Apollo and Stand Up for the Week, and as a regular on BBC Radio 4, where his own hugely successful, acclaimed radio show Simon Evans Goes To Market – a funny, incisive and informed look at the economics behind, well, everything – returned for a fourth series in Spring 2018. He is also a regular panellist on Radio 4’s legendary The News Quiz.
For this one-off comedy night, he is breaking off part way through his current nationwide tour – Genius [full dates and details http://offthekerb.com] – to make a very welcome return to Haddo. He last visited in 2017 when his brilliant wit was, as ever, bone dry – as was the Haddo bar, unusually! This will rectified on the 10th October, when the bar will open an hour before the show begins!
Simon will be supported by emerging talent Marc Jennings, a finalist in the Scottish Comedian of the Year 2017.
Simon is well known to the British comedy-going public from TV shows such as Live at the Apollo and Stand Up for the Week, and as a regular on BBC Radio 4, where his own hugely successful, acclaimed radio show Simon Evans Goes To Market returns for a fourth series in Spring 2018. A funny, incisive and informed look at the economics behind, well, everything – this is a great showcase for Simon’s talents, as are his regular appearances on various panel games, most notably Radio 4’s legendary The News Quiz.
Simon also makes regular contributions in a slightly more serious vein, as a regular guest on current affairs TV shows (most recently Andrew Neil’s This Week, BBC One) and on live radio, eg Radio Five’s Afternoon Edition. He was also part of the comedians’ team on University Challenge: The Professionals – narrowly beaten by eventual series winners the Ministry of Justice! – and has won Celebrity Mastermind: his specialist subject was Ernest Shackleton.
Hugely popular at the Edinburgh festival, Simon has recently returned from the Fringe after a sell-out run of his new show, Genius. He received a coveted five star review from The Scotsman.
A finalist in the Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2017, Marc’s unique style combines caustic Glaswegian gutsiness with the intellectual rigour of a philosopher so that audiences may never view a part-time job, or life in general, in quite the same way again.
Marc is also part of the popular sketch troupe SCRAM!, has written and produced his own 30 minute political-mockumentary Party On, as well as clocking up over a million views as writer and star of his own viral video on Unemployment.
